Ingram Micro is bringing together some of the most inspirational channel players and thought leaders in cloud computing at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on Thursday 24th May, for the Ingram Micro UK Cloud Summit. The master cloud service provider has now announced details of the day’s agenda, which will feature talks and keynotes from the likes of Symantec, Dropbox, Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), Piccadilly Group, MetaFused and lead sponsor Microsoft, all inviting Ingram Micro Cloud partners to innovate, transform and thrive in the cloud.

MSPs, systems integrators and ISVs attending the event will be exposed to industry leaders sharing insights on how to build transformational partnerships with end users and partners, as well as what emerging trends accelerating the 4th Industrial Revolution.

The day will start with a welcome address from Alex Hilton, Chief Executive at CIF, followed by talks from high-level executives at Microsoft, Acronis and Dropbox. Each talk will address specific areas of interest for partners, and are scheduled to tackle subjects involving: cyber security, future technology and big data. The themes will address safeguarding businesses, future-proofing, and unlocking the power of business intelligence.

Apay Obang-Oyway, Director of Cloud, UK&I at Ingram Micro, commented: “While cloud is a real enabler of creating competitive advantage, there is no way it can be a success if companies do not have the means to properly embrace it. Gartner says that “by 2020, a corporate ‘No-Cloud’ policy will be as rare as a ‘No-Internet’ policy is today.” That is now only 20 months away.

“Channel partners will continue to be invaluable in the role they play in helping end user organisations realise their strategic vision leveraging technology. The 4th Industrial Revolution which is what we are in now is fundamentally about digital transformation. So, partners today have a bigger strategic role than ever before as the strategy trusted adviser offering guidance on why and routes to the cloud. Showing how cloud enhances the business model, customer experience and optimises the operation need not be as complicated as some think. Sharing proof points; discussing success stories to demonstrate that the cloud is safer, can add value to jobs, and notably can add exponential value to the performance of organisations is key to our role in the channel.

“There is an excellent opportunity at this year’s UK Cloud Summit for the channel to learn from leading figures within the industry who are sharing their thoughts regarding the future of the industry and how best the channel should approach the Fourth Industrial Revolution to be at the forefront of it. For partners, this knowledge will be instrumental in helping them accelerate their business to the next level by providing the ability to enhance customer acquisition and retention, and ultimately, drive better business outcomes,” he concluded.
