Proximus chooses Collibra to unlock business value in data

The leading Belgian telecoms operator chooses Collibra to increase the value of its data assets through data governance, as well as addressing key regulatory requirements.

Collibra is partnering with Proximus Group, the largest telecommunications company in Belgium, enabling Proximus to generate strategic value from its data while addressing key regulation and data protection legislations across Europe.

Proximus Group provides an array of telecommunication and digital services such as telephony, internet, television and network-based services to residential, enterprise and public customers in Belgium and overseas, through a reliable infrastructure of fixed and mobile networks. Faced with strict compliance requirements set by the GDPR, the Group identified the need to invest in a data governance solution enabling it to find, understand and trust any data asset throughout the organisation, for better efficiency and decision making.

“Data is the lifeblood of our organisations and it has increasingly become a mission-critical component of our services to customers” stated Laurent Mons, Data Governance and Quality Leader, Proximus. “Our key requirement was the need to provide both technical and business teams with the right self-services, for them to make the best decisions that will ultimately bring value to customers. Collibra has laid the foundations for our business to operate safely and efficiently, allowing us to become a truly data-driven organisation.”

The Collibra platform will enable Proximus Group not only to meet the strictest compliance obligations, but to develop actionable algorithms based on consistent and trustworthy datasets, for reliable data analytics. As a result of implementing the Collibra platform, the company will be able to improve business processes from the bottom up, leading to consistent reporting and increase in operational efficiencies.

“Proximus is an outstanding example of an organisation that has leveraged data governance not only from a GDPR compliance perspective, but also to generate value right across the business”, said Steve Neat, VP EMEA Sales, Collibra. “The Collibra platform is the ideal solution for organisations like Proximus wanting to reduce the enormous hidden cost of data management across the business whilst also driving cross-departmental collaboration. We look forward to supporting Proximus on its mission to become a truly digital organisation and maximising its business value from data.”
