Commvault is ensuring that the North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT)’s critical data is kept safe with Metallic’s backup for Office 365. COOLSPIRiT, trusted provider of modern IT infrastructure and data protection solutions, is supporting the deployments with its dedicated team of Commvault experts, ensuring that NBT can instead focus on its life-saving work.

With sensitive and critical data being generated and shared between staff every day, NBT required a secure and reliable backup solution. After the hospital’s recent migration to Office 365, it chose Metallic’s backup to help protect its estate. Metallic’s solution delivers backup storage options designed around customers’ requirements so the hospital’s data could be backed up three times a day, reducing the risk of data being lost. Additionally, with the new Metallic platform, should data fall through the cracks, it can be recovered quickly and easily.

Philip Hughes, Technical Infrastructure Engineer at NBT, comments: “It is certainly a relief to have peace of mind that we are now getting three backups a day for our data. Metallic has increased the regularity of backups, and that really has helped, as before we were only backing up once a day. Our investment has proved itself already - we had an issue where a user lost all their data in the cloud through no fault of their own, but with our new Metallic platform we were able to restore that valuable data very quickly for them.”

The hospital has faced many challenges brought about by the pandemic, so thankfully its backup and data recovery solutions did not become another obstacle. Metallic SaaS has easy deployments and automatic upgrades, taking the complexity out of its use. With COOLSPIRiT’s GUARDiAN team of Commvault experts on hand to provide assistance, the whole experience is positive and trouble-free.

“Set up was really simple – it took just an hour to get it up and running. Now nothing is on-premises and it is all cloud based,” adds Hughes. “In terms of working with COOLSPIRiT – we can’t fault them or the people at Commvault. Communication was absolutely on point and the technical support we  had from all sides was brilliant. We know we have invested in a technology that is very solid and the product achieves all our primary goals.”

Dominic Collins, Account Executive at COOLSPIRiT, says: “We are super excited about providing a product that is not only beneficial to our customers, but one that is constantly innovating from a vendor that does not stand still. We are so pleased that Trusts like Bristol NHS Trust have put their faith in our abilities to keep them and their data safe.”

Stuart Abbott, Area Vice President & General Manager of UK & Ireland at Commvault, adds: “We are delighted to support North Bristol NHS Trust with its data backup and recovery. After all the hard work and challenges NHS staff have faced over the past nearly two years, it’s a privilege to be able to assist their IT teams and free up their time so they can focus on other vital IT projects such as cancer care applications and patient support. Our partnership with COOLSPIRiT has enabled us to achieve this as its GUARDiAN team of Commvault experts implement and support our customers’ infrastructure, ensuring their important data is in safe hands.”
