Trek Bicycle Corporation (Trek), a global performance bike brand, has reported major improvements in its operational and worker efficiency after implementing the SOTI ONE Platform, an integrated Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution.

As the demand for e-bikes continues to surge across Europe post-Covid, Trek discovered a critical need for increased efficiency across the hundreds of devices operating in its six manufacturing warehouses. Having struggled through hours of unnecessary downtime and several other mobility challenges due to a lack of visibility into its device fleet, it was crucial for Trek to find a solution that would ensure production and shipping processes ran smoothly.

All part of the SOTI ONE Platform, the bike retailer now leverages SOTI MobiControl for clear visibility into its devices and for rolling out updates and security patches, as well as SOTI XSight’s remote features for monitoring device performance and providing fast user support.

Tom Spoke, Director of Global IT at Trek Bicycle Corporation said: “Trek is on a mission to replace as many car journeys as possible with bikes. This can only be achieved with reliable technology enabling and supporting our backend warehousing and distribution centres to cope with the surging customer demand across the UK and throughout EMEA.

“From warehouse scanners to delivery driver mobile computers, we rely on SOTI for the effective management of the process from order through to the last mile. The SOTI platform has drastically decreased downtime and ensures our devices are protected against cyber threats.”

The simplicity of SOTI MobiControl’s drag and drop feature allows Trek to seamlessly roll out critical updates as its IT team easily sets up and configures devices. With the addition of SOTI XSight, the team can quickly diagnose, support and troubleshoot issues remotely, ensuring its distribution facilities can ship same-day orders so stores have available stock for all cyclists’ needs.

“Our latest retail report found that nearly two thirds of all consumers continue shopping with brands who deliver goods the fastest. That’s why visibility into the location of a device fleet is essential,” commented Faki Saadi, Director of Sales, France, UK and Ireland at SOTI. “Trek can now monitor when and where a device is being used and quickly troubleshoot device issues, remotely and in real time, so that orders can be shipped same day.”

Before implementing the SOTI ONE Platform, Trek struggled with troubleshooting device issues, device security and gaining insight into the performance of its rugged devices. Long-time partner RMS Omega assisted Trek in evaluating EMM tools, leading the team to SOTI. After a seamless installation, the time spent providing device support decreased from hours to minutes, resulting in substantial savings considering the backlog that can occur in a warehouse when employees cannot execute tasks due to device failures.

“The SOTI implementation has helped reduce downtime, and we are pleased to see its positive impact on our operations so far,” said Peter Vatenos, VP of Marketing & Principal at RMS Omega. “We look forward to continuing working with our long-time customer, Trek, on future technology advancements.”
