Waracle expands European presence with HackSoft acquisition

Waracle acquires HackSoft to expand its European footprint and enhance its digital expertise.

Leading UK digital project consultancy, Waracle, has taken a transformative step in its expansion strategy by acquiring HackSoft, a Sofia-based software development consultancy. This acquisition is a pivotal milestone as Waracle extends its reach beyond the UK for the first time, firmly anchoring itself in one of Europe's burgeoning tech hubs.

The deal enables Waracle to broaden its talent base and enhance its capacity to offer innovative solutions to an expanding international clientele. HackSoft brings its well-regarded expertise in product, web development, and data services to the table, enhancing Waracle's prowess in digital product development across key sectors such as financial services, energy, health, and the public sector.

Established in 2017, HackSoft's team of 55 has built a stellar reputation for engineering excellence and a commitment to quality software development. This partnership provides Waracle with the opportunity to tap into HackSoft's strengths, markedly complementing their own robust capabilities.

Continued Growth and Development This move follows a period of significant transformation for Waracle, supported by growth capital from BGF. By 2025, Waracle aims to strengthen its UK team, having already expanded to a workforce of 210 across four offices in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee.

Waracle CEO, David Tuck, emphasised how their growth strategy was shaped around finding talented partners whose technical prowess aligns with their own. He highlighted that Waracle and HackSoft share similar values centred around fostering a strong, inclusive culture and maintaining commitment as a trusted partner for clients.

This shared vision is further echoed by Radoslav Georgiev, HackSoft’s co-founder, who expressed enthusiasm for the joining of forces with Waracle, highlighting the potential for the HackSoft team to encounter greater growth and challenges.

As Waracle CTO, Mike Wharton, summarised, it’s about doing great work with equally dedicated partners – and that’s a sentiment fully resonated across the teams of both companies.
