Climate solutions experts, LFB Group’s Lennox-branded Data Centre Solutions division, has announced a significant expansion project, enhancing their operational capabilities in Lyon, France. The multi-million euro investment reinforces their commitment to leading the data centre market, driven by a growing demand for AI and increased data storage solutions.

The investment targets two key sites located in Genas and Mions. With close to a year of operations under its belt, the division celebrates this advancement as a strategic move to capture the burgeoning data centre market, including over 100 projected facilities in the UK and an anticipated continental investment of €94 billion by 2030.

The expanded facilities will allow the Lennox division to meet the increasing demand for innovative cooling solutions, vital for managing the higher rack densities characterizing today's data centres. This European expansion enhances the company's ability to support operators across the EMEA market.

Built in 1968, the Genas facility spans 18,000 sqm and serves as a manufacturing hub, specializing in evaporators, condensers, and the ApX Series products, which support modern data centre needs. The investment will introduce new automation and quality assurance tools, such as helium leak testing and induction brazing, alongside a cutting-edge punching machine.

Part of LFB Group's sustainability initiatives, the site will also feature over 1,000 solar panels by 2026, aligning with the United Nations' Global Compact goals. Meanwhile, the Mions laboratory — a prestigious Eurovent-accredited centre — will spearhead research and development (R&D) activities aimed at advancing data centre technologies.

Equipped with advanced climatic test chambers, the laboratory supports performance validation and rigorous real-world testing, solidifying the LFB Group's foothold as a premier European manufacturer with a comprehensive production network.

The division's leadership acknowledges this expansion as a pivotal step towards meeting market demands. With increased focus on R&D, new roles will emerge in Project Management, Operations, and Sales across France, Germany, and the Netherlands, with expectations of a 40-strong team by 2027.
