LiquidStack secures CDU capacity order to meet AI demand

LiquidStack lands a 300-megawatt CDU order from U.S. data centre operator, marking a key moment in AI infrastructure development.

LiquidStack, a provider of liquid cooling solutions for data centres, has confirmed a 300-megawatt capacity order of Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) from a U.S. based data centre operator. This multi-location order aims to cater to AI-ready data centre deployments, reflecting the ever-growing demand for expansive liquid cooling solutions in high-density AI workload environments.

This order focuses on LiquidStack’s CDU-1MW units, which are engineered for quick deployment, aiming to provide high-performance, operational efficiency, and future expandability tailored to next-generation data centre ecosystems.

The customer, an operator with a growing portfolio of AI-ready facilities across the US, has chosen LiquidStack as its partner for liquid cooling. This collaboration supports the expansion of AI-ready, high-density infrastructure.

LiquidStack’s manufacturing and delivery capabilities are intended to support the fulfilment of this 300-megawatt order, in line with build-out timelines across multiple locations.

"Orders of this size signal a clear inflection point for liquid cooling," noted Joe Capes, CEO of LiquidStack. This insight underscores the sector's shift, with operators embracing liquid cooling as important infrastructure for AI initiatives, positioning LiquidStack to support this transition.

LiquidStack’s CDU models are crafted for integration with direct-to-chip and hybrid liquid cooling frameworks, aiming to ensure precise thermal management, robust availability, and straightforward operational processes.

This announcement coincides with LiquidStack’s continued momentum, highlighted by its inclusion on NVIDIA’s Recommended Vendor List for CDUs, expansion of its manufacturing base in Carrollton, Texas, and escalating adoption of its CDU frameworks in AI and accelerated computing tasks.
