AlgoSec's new security management solution: A33.20

AlgoSec's latest release, A33.20, aims to enhance network security operations by providing improved visibility and more streamlined management for hybrid cloud environments.

AlgoSec has unveiled A33.20, the latest iteration of its Security Management Solution as part of the AlgoSec Horizon platform. This release aims to ease the challenges associated with network security operations, giving teams enhanced visibility, control, and the ability to make faster, well-informed decisions.

With projections indicating that 90% of organisations will transition to a hybrid cloud approach by 2027, security teams face the need to navigate increasingly complex and distributed network landscapes. In such scenarios, prompt security changes are crucial, though they often lack comprehensive insight regarding their implications on essential applications. In tandem, evolving governance and compliance imperatives demand rigorous maintenance of precise and consistent security controls.

Eran Shiff, Chief Product Officer at AlgoSec, remarked that “Security teams today are being asked to move faster than ever, but speed without clarity, especially across complex environments, creates risk.” With the introduction of A33.20, AlgoSec aims to reduce hurdles and delays in change management. The solution provides a broader view across environments, helping teams address key risks more efficiently while supporting timely and secure implementations.

The intended benefits of A33.20 include:

  1. Simplifying alignment and execution: Aiding this is an AI-powered bot named Algo, which refines workflows by automating repetitive tasks. These include generating change tickets, conducting risk and compliance analyses, and validating application connectivity flows, through language preference, enhancing enterprise-wide alignment.
  2. Enhancing visibility in hybrid setups: A33.20 expands cloud policy support for platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. It also introduces traffic simulation queries and impact analyses for features like the Google Load Balancer and AWS native firewall. Moreover, it provides comprehensive policy visibility for Palo Alto Networks NGFWs via Strata Cloud Manager.
  3. Automating security adjustments: There's AlgoSec FireFlow support for the Google Cloud Network Firewall Policy, offering insights into traffic change requirements. Furthermore, automation based on analytics reports, such as Disabled and Unused Rules reports, aids in direct remediation.
  4. Prioritising risk in harmony with business goals: This solution assesses risk and compliance concerning enterprise applications, facilitating prioritisation based on business significance and easing the process of rule recertification. Out-of-the-box compliance assessments now encompass CIS Baseline for Palo Alto Networks, NIS2, and SOC 2-mapped controls while reporting spans supported vendors.
