Arqit launches encryption intelligence for post-quantum planning

Arqit introduces Encryption Intelligence, targeting efficient migration to post-quantum cryptography and enhancing enterprise security.

Arqit has revealed Encryption Intelligence (EI), marking its full commercial launch. This tool aims to offer a comprehensive cryptographic inventory, aiding enterprises in post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) migration with minimal disruptions.

Migration to quantum-safe encryption is expected to be a key focus in IT over the coming decade. Without a full understanding of existing cryptographic dependencies, organisations risk falling behind. With Encryption Intelligence, businesses can hope to gain in-depth insights into encryption dependencies for smooth and effective migration strategy.

Many organisations do not have a complete view of their cryptographic frameworks. Algorithms and protocols can persist across cloud environments, acquired systems, and long-lived infrastructure.

Intended Core Features of Encryption Intelligence:

  1. Discover Hidden Risks: Identify and address weak encryption within your networks, applications, and cloud services in real-time.
  2. Facilitate Secure Migration: Obtain insights to drive the replacement of outdated encryption, equipping your business against emerging threats.
  3. Ensure Continuous Security: Constantly monitor and refine your encryption apparatus for enduring protection and compliance.

The emphasis on discovery and prioritisation echoes a larger movement in regulatory and advisory domains. Both national and global entities are spotlighting cryptographic discovery and inventory as stepping stones towards quantum readiness.

Being selected for the UK National Cyber Security Centre's (NCSC) Post-Quantum Cryptography Pilot under the Assured Cyber Security Consultancy Scheme, Arqit helps demonstrate the capabilities of its discovery and migration planning process. This programme ascertains Arqit’s ability to aid organisations to comprehend and tackle their cryptographic exposures effectively.

Chief Security Officer at Arqit, Trevor Graham, emphasised, “Organisations cannot manage what they cannot see. Encryption Intelligence provides the visibility and control needed to plan and execute PQC migration efficiently, minimising cost and disruption while meeting emerging compliance obligations."
