Fortinet launches new platforms for AI-driven security operations

Fortinet presents its unified SOC platform and FortiOS 8.0 updates to tackle AI-driven threats with enhanced security solutions.

At the recent Accelerate 2026 conference, Fortinet presented updates to its security operations portfolio designed to help organisations address increasingly sophisticated AI-driven cyber threats.

Fortinet introduced FortiSOC, a SOC platform intended to integrate elements such as SIEM, SOAR, and threat intelligence within a single service. The platform incorporates agentic AI capabilities to assist with alert triage, threat hunting, and investigations.

FortiSOC brings together tools including FortiAnalyzer and FortiSIEM to provide a unified interface for security operations. Its single-console management and integrated data model support log management, automation, behavioural analytics, and case handling, giving security teams visibility and operational functionality.

Fortinet’s operating system, FortiOS 8.0, builds on over 25 years of cybersecurity development. The update includes enhanced SASE capabilities, quantum-safe cryptography, and AI-driven security features intended to manage risks associated with generative AI. FortiOS 8.0 also supports hybrid and multi-cloud environments, providing controls to monitor and manage AI applications while maintaining secure networking.

FortiGuard SOC-as-a-Service has been updated to enhance managed service offerings, providing coverage through integration with third-party monitoring tools and extending visibility for threat detection across environments.

Post-quantum cryptography standards are included to maintain secure communications and protocols without affecting system performance. FortiOS 8.0 also features unified SD-WAN bundles, improved application performance, and increased resiliency for mission-critical environments.

The updates presented at Accelerate 2026 highlight Fortinet’s approach to extending SOC and AI capabilities. Through FortiSOC and FortiOS 8.0, organisations can access integrated tools and processes aimed at managing AI-driven cyber threats across diverse environments.
