SATLINE’s recent infrastructure upgrade brings its core systems into alignment with Tier III standards under the Uptime Institute’s classification system. This development is intended to support higher levels of data centre performance and reliability.
The focus of the infrastructure improvements is on increasing resilience by reducing single points of failure. The upgrades were carried out without disrupting live operations, with the aim of maintaining ongoing service continuity.
Key upgrades include:
- Power redundancy: The previous configuration, which relied on a single generator connection, has been upgraded to two fully redundant generators to reduce single points of failure in the power system.
- UPS capacity expansion: The capacity of UPS systems has been doubled to improve support during power interruptions and extend operational runtime.
- Modernised cooling systems: HVAC systems have been reconfigured to provide full redundancy and improved energy efficiency, supporting thermal stability.
- Tier III-aligned architecture: The overall infrastructure design follows principles of concurrent maintainability and increased availability.
These upgrades were implemented while maintaining live operations, with no reported downtime during the transition.
The move from a Tier II to a Tier III–aligned setup introduces changes intended to improve operational resilience, including reduced single points of failure in power and cooling systems, support for concurrent maintainability, increased availability and fault tolerance, and improved scalability for future demand.
The updates are intended to support service continuity even during maintenance or system component upgrades.
As part of its broader strategy, SATLINE plans to continue developing infrastructure aligned with the requirements of satellite communications workloads. The company also indicates further expansion into Asia as part of its growth plans in response to increasing regional demand for satellite connectivity.
With ongoing facility development and geographic expansion, SATLINE is positioning its infrastructure to support evolving requirements within the global SATCOM sector.
