UCEN Manchester becomes official Check Point SecureAcademy partner

UCEN Manchester partners with Check Point to provide students with cybersecurity education and experience in response to the UK skills shortage.

UCEN Manchester has joined Check Point Software Technologies’s global network of educational partners through the Check Point SecureAcademy. The collaboration provides students with access to structured learning materials, certification pathways, and practical exposure to cybersecurity technologies used in industry.

The partnership exists within a UK context where reports indicate a skills gap between demand for cybersecurity professionals and the available workforce. As cyber threats increase in scale and complexity, there is greater focus on combining academic study with applied industry experience.

Through this arrangement, Check Point SecureAcademy integrates a vendor-validated curriculum into relevant UCEN Manchester programmes. The curriculum covers approaches commonly used in cyber defence and incident prevention in enterprise environments.

UCEN Manchester delivers training that includes both theoretical content and applied skills across different security environments. The programme also includes exposure to multi-vendor technologies, reflecting the variety of systems used in many organisations.

The Check Point SecureAcademy programme, as part of Check Point’s education initiatives, provides participating institutions with teaching resources and structured learning materials aligned with industry practices. It also incorporates insights from Check Point’s global threat research.

Students may cover topics such as AI-supported threat intelligence, based on research produced by Check Point. This is intended to support understanding of how evolving threats are identified and analysed, and how defensive measures are developed.

Through the collaboration, students may have access to:

  • Structured curriculum content covering areas such as cloud, network, and endpoint security concepts within the course framework
  • Defined pathways toward professional certifications recognised in the cybersecurity industry
  • Practical exercises using security technologies applied in enterprise contexts
  • Exposure to a range of security tools and systems commonly used across different vendors

The programme focuses on developing skills relevant to cybersecurity roles by combining theoretical knowledge with applied practice in contemporary security environments.
