APM Group, the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) independent certification partner, has announced that Denovo Business Intelligence, a leading developer of Cloud-based software solutions for the legal sector, has successfully certified against the CIF Code of Practice. In achieving the certification, Denovo has demonstrated its commitment transparency, accountability and capability in the delivery of Cloud services.

Founded in 1982 and based in Glasgow, Denovo has established itself as one of the leading providers of Cloud services in Scotland. The company provides bespoke Cloud-based software solutions to law firms across the UK, helping to make them more efficient and more profitable, while its unique cross-platform Cloud service gives lawyers the capability to work from anywhere, through any device.

This is the first time that Denovo has certified against the Code of Practice, something that it believes is vital for demonstrating its credentials in the market and ensuring trust among its primary customer base: lawyers.

Commenting on their reasons for seeking CIF certification, Nicky Ferguson from Denovo, said: “Cloud computing has a great deal to offer law firms, which, like most businesses, are under pressure to improve the efficiency of IT systems without increasing overheads. But lawyers are by nature very risk averse and incredibly sensitive to risk, so Cloud providers to the sector often need to do more to demonstrate that they are trustworthy and capable enough to handle their data. That’s why the CIF Code of Practice was so appealing to us, and we saw it as the perfect way to prove our excellence to the market.

“CIF certification makes the buying decision far less onerous, giving our prospective and existing customers peace of mind that they are dealing with a CSP that conforms to the highest standards in the delivery of Cloud services,” Nicky continued.

The use of the CIF Certification Mark on a vendor’s website serves two clear purposes: it makes a public declaration of professional and commercial intent on the part of the cloud service provider and it provides a visual mark of recognition that engenders confidence in the end user that the organisation is open and professional in its commercial activities.

Richard Pharro, CEO of APM Group, added: “Today, CIF continues to operate the only certified Code of Practice programme in the UK and was recently added to the European Commission’s Cloud Certification Schemes List, confirming its value to the market. The Code of Practice exists as an independent benchmark of best practice and key credentials that credible CSPs should be able to measure up to and be able to provide sufficient assurance in regard to the transparency, capability and accountability of their market offer. We are therefore very pleased to welcome Denovo to the community of CIF-certified providers and look forward to working with them closely in future.”
